When Doug joined Autotec in the May of 1997 it was a meeting of two very different worlds. Doug attended Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and graduated with a degree in business commerce in 1993. From there he went on to work for Ernst & Young in their auditing practice ultimately obtaining his Chartered Accountancy desination in 1996. Looking for a change of scenery after four years in the accounting business he ending up purchasing Autotec Inc in the Fall of 1997 having no automotive experience what so ever. This was a real challenge and great learning experience understanding and reshaping the business from the ground up.  In his tenth year with the company and backed by a solid understanding of the business and the industry in which it competes, Doug sees a bright future for Autotec . Living in Rothesay with his two daughters Doug’s other passions include salmon fishing, golf, hockey and gardening. David is a licensed technician who has been with Autotec since 1997. As well as being fully licensed he is also a certified technician on air condition systems. His expertise however lies in driveability diagnostics and repair. David has received extensive training and experience in this area which shows in his work. However this is not to say that he is a stranger to electrical trouble-shooting and diagnotics. Among David’s past accomplishments include obtaining the highest score in the provincial exam which has yet to be matched. All of this adds up to a technician who can provide real value to our clients. Born and raised in England David came to Canada in 1993 with long hair and a guitar in his arms. Now he still enjoys playing music but also spending time with his two children exploring the outdoors where they live in St. Martins. Mark came to Autotec in the winter of 2010 after spending most of his professional career in the outdoor power equipment field. The majority of his time in the industry was as a technician. During this time Mark attended and successfully past a wide variety of training. Mark is now responsible for repairing and rebuilding starters, alternators and various types of motors. Mark spent his childhood being involved with heavy equipment as it was a family business. Mark enjoys eating out, nascar, movies and professional training to keep him occupied when he is not repairing a starter. Our focus is on preventative maintenance and in keeping with this we perform a 20 point inspection (complimentary) on every vehicle that comes into our facility. We do this because we think it is important to inform our clients about the current state of their vehicle. What is done with this information is completely up to them. But we also understand that break-downs do occur that can’t be prevented such as a fuel pump that just quits. **Our reputation is built on our electrical and fuel expertise, as well as:** 1- Every 5th oil change is free (most vehicles).  Next time you are in make sure to sign up to our NEW REWARDS PROGRAM at the service counter. 2- We provide a free shuttle service to and from Autotec (within city limits) for clients who choose to leave their vehicle for service work.3- Quick Check Program - 4 wheel alignment,battery health,tire health,stopping check and a diagnostic check as well. 4- Digital Inspections – using a tablet, our service techs will take pictures of their inspection and provide a digital report of findings, good or bad, “YOU SEE WHAT WE SEE”! 5- All work performed is only done so after we have received authorization from you, the client. 6- All of the above is important but not nearly as important as meeting our clients automotive needs in a professional, friendly and timely manner. Price is important when it comes to maintenance and repair bills on your vehicle, but we believe so is value. That is why we will use quality parts to repair your vehicle. If you would prefer us to use a lessor quality part because price is your main concern please inform your service advisor at time of check in. **Our work is backed by a Peace Of Mind Warranty 24 month or 40,000km warranty on Parts & Labour.** Once that period expires we will warranty the part for as long as the manufacturer suggests. This, in most cases, is anywhere from one year to a lifetime. Autotec focuses on both foreign and domestic models of cars, vans, light trucks and sport utility vehicles. All of our work is complete with a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. For those who are in a rush turnaround time on your unit can be as little as two hours. We will provide a quote for replacement and for the work needed to repair, no work is performed or ordered until we have the proper authorization. We have the knowledge and parts to work on almost any type of automotive, heavy-duty industrial, agricultural or marine unit. There is nothing we have not seen.
